Communication at its best

This video of a monkey playing with a puppy is nothing short of an internet gold. But, perhaps the first thing which comes to a human mind is how is this possible. May be the reason is that they are animals, not humans. They do not possess the so called avaricious character which we humans possess and are so proud to flaunt. As we call ourselves intelligent creatures created by God, how many of us can actually decipher the language between the monkey and the puppy. What is that common language which has bound them to such an extent which has put us humans to shame? Some say that language is a barrier. For communication to be completed, the sender must be able to communicate in the language which the receiver understands and is able to provide feedback. States in our country have been divided more on the basis of language rather than the grave reason of improper administrative control. Then what is it that has bound the not so intelligent creatures together and left us to ponder about their respect for each other? May be they are more intelligent than us or may be we are faced with the problem of being the most intelligent. Has intelligence eaten away our souls or is it that we have decided to disregard and ignore the alarm raised by our conscience for not being able to respect, value, and prize the human race? Why cannot we develop the common language of brotherhood or union or fellowship arising from common responsibilities and interests, cultivate a feeling a fraternity, have tolerant behavior towards diversity of views, culture, and beliefs and translate human rights into social reality? What man has done to man has no limit. He has tortured him, he has burned him, he has killed him, he has exploited him in every possible way-religious, political, economic. This has been the story of man to man; the clever exploit the stupid, the ignorant. When would we see a man stand up for all and all stand for one? May be that day is not far off. Till then we have to wait and do our best for the society around us.

Waiting to bite the bait

It all started with Anna Hazare launching a campaign for the Lokpal Bill. People joined, showed their support, and then forgot about the whole issue considering the inside differences in Anna’s own team. But then there were some like Arvind Kejriwal waiting for their turn to try their hands at politics. There could not have been a better opportunity with people already feeling tired of the existing government and the various allegations of corruption tumbling out of it coffers.

It was team Anna’s absolutist stance that has resulted in some of its popularity dwindling among the Hazare followers. Hazare squandered some of the goodwill and moral force he had acquired by being too rigid on his stance of either Jan Lokpal or nothing, by publicly denigrating the parliamentary process and finally by openly getting associated with party politics.

With team BJP taking double stances on the Lokpal Bill and the Congress government shying away from making a decision regarding the bill and putting the CBI under the scanner of the Lokpal bill, the whole concept of Lokpal Bill which had gained so much popularity among the urban middle class seemed to collapse. What started as a movement against corruption transformed into a campaign against the Congress. Gradually, it descended to a commonplace obstructionist policy. The people lost interest, the team lost support, and Anna Hazare was completely forgotten. Finding it as the best time to bite the bait, Arvind Kejriwal came to the forefront to take advantage of the unhealed wounds of the common masses. He formed his own political party, showed interest in contesting elections against the Congress in 2014, and announced a never-ending, sustained campaign against the Congress till the next elections.

What started as a dream of building a super-Ombudsman for bringing the employees of the Government under its scanner irrespective of the federal nature of the Constitution ended in formation of political parties for fulfilling own vested interests.

What remains to be seen by us as Indians is whether we get something better at the Centre or whether we would again be caught up in the vicious circle of added corruption by incoming newly formed political parties. Only time can tell……….since the only thing we can do is wait.

Six ethics of life !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I learned something new, so decided to share it through my blog. Every new day of my life teaches me something new, something appropriate, something necessary, and nevertheless interesting. And every new experience reminds of the pain I had to undergo for the tests I had to give to learn in return. Surely, experience is a strict teacher. A teacher teaches first and takes the test afterwards. Experience does it the other way round. It tests us first and gives the lesson afterwards. But, it is still the best and most remembered teacher.

Shameless India...............shameless politicians!!!!!

Hats off to the creative team behind the making of this ad. This ad is an eye opener for all who believe that politics is done in the interest of the country and that voting is unnecessary. You did not vote and see what you got in return -- shameless and ruthless parliamentarians. Manmohan Singh, are you watching? You being an honest economist and Prime Minister has not helped much.................

We are ashamed of our politicians......still the same people vote them year after year in the hope that they would do something to make our country proud. In the process, are we being optimists or members of a dumb democracy?

Yet another mockery of our Fundamental Rights........

Yet India shines again in another case when we as Indians are forced to think if we are really free. The most recent incident of two women getting arrested for posting their views on a social networking site has not only put us in shame but also reinforced the fact that we are yet to be free and that the sacrifice made by our freedom fighters can be slowly seen going down the drain.

What use is freedom if we cannot express ourselves? What use is freedom if we lack tolerance towards other people? What use is freedom if we cannot allow other people to express their views? Definitely, my condolences to Bal Thackeray's family for their loss but was the hooliganism against Shaheen Dhada's family worth it? First their intolerance against North-East Indians drove people out of their jobs and homes, destroyed their belongings, and separated them from their near and dear ones and now this vague expression of anger against a comment which had not even mentioned their leader's name. Where people had come out in lakhs to pay homage their leader, the supporters, needless to say, uncivilized and wild, were on a rampage destroying properties of some people they did not even know. While the government stood there watching those people making a joke out of our own political system, the police aggravated the situation by arresting two women for posting their views and liking it on a popular social networking site.

The comment was somewhat like this, “With all respect, every day, thousands of people die, but still the world moves on. Just due to one politician died a natural death, everyone just goes bonkers. They should know, we are resilient by force, not by choice. When was the last time, did anyone showed some respect or even a two-minute silence for Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Azad, Sukhdev or any of the people because of whom we are free-living Indians? Respect is earned, given, and definitely not forced. Today, Mumbai shuts down due to fear, not due to respect.”

Honestly speaking I see nothing wrong in this comment but the first and foremost question which comes to my mind is what wrong did they see in this comment. Did Indians ever show the same amount of respect to our freedom fighters except consider their birth anniversary as another holiday in the Government calendar?

My people, get up, gear up, and think that we should not consider ourselves Indians by default but because our culture has imbibed in us the basic quality of tolerance and the capacity to endure what is difficult or disagreeable without being violent and to recognize and respect the rights, beliefs, or practices of other people around us.

The man indicted by Srikrishna Commission for the 1992 communal riots in this city, was yesterday given a state funeral in his very city!

And more than 1.5 million morons attended the funeral!

No wonder India will always be the dumbest democracy ever!

Let the hooligans and ruffians around us know that we know our rights and the right way to express them.

As has been rightly said by Guruji, “ Where the mind is without fear, and the head is held high.”
I would like to add, “ Let my country be free from the clutches of fear and panic whose source is our very own ignorance of matters and opinions.”

RIP Bal Thackeray whose ubiquitous influence was feared, more than admired by one and all !!!!!!!!!

RIP to the people who do not know how to use their freedom well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP to the people who fear to know their rights and use their freedom for fear of unknown consequences !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP to all those people who fear to lead, so they follow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jai Hind !!!!!!!

Is India as secure as the U.S.A.?

Yet another scandal rocked the U.S. government taking into its fold the resignation of David Petraeus, who resigned as head of the CIA on Friday after admitting an extramarital affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell. News of his illicit relationship surfaced when Broadwell sent out extremely outrageous e-mails to another woman whom she considered to be her rival in love with Petraeus. Petraeus was quick to resign since adultery is considered a crime under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Now before as Indians since we are quick to raise fingers on other people’s personal conduct, what remains to be seen is whether we are as concerned about our security as the Western world. Where in countries like U.S. and U.K., e-mails are scanned and telephone conversations are tapped regardless of the position a person may be enjoying, do we see the same facility in India? Economists claim that India has what it takes to a super power, but are we ready for it yet? This may though seem to be a daunting question; the answer is still to be searched for, looked for, and yet the question would remain unanswered. Not because that we Indians do not have the potential, but because we do not care. We do not care about what happens around us because we are so merged in ourselves. We look upon the Third World to be like them, to imitate them but we have yet to learn a lot from them especially matters, which concern our national security. Hopefully, the day will come when Indians would realize that voting is not only a right but more of a moral responsibility to bring the capable people to the fore and that voting as a right if exercised properly would do a lot in bringing our country from the shambles which our respected ministers have led it into. I hope to see that day when the polling day would not be regarded as a mere source of holiday for us but a day which reminds us of our responsibility that we are yet to give a lot to our country in lieu of what we enjoy from her.

Elegance and beauty embedded in the abode of Nature

There is no prize for guessing the name of the bird. You call it elegant or beautiful, overall the sight of this bird is a mesmerizing experience for some and a symbol of blessings for others. It is symbolic of qualities like beauty, grace, pride, and mysticism. The elaborate courtship dance of the male, fanning out the tail, and preening its feathers is a beautiful sight. One of my friends knowing about my love for peacock sent me these pictures which he had clicked in Tadoba tiger reserve. Beautiful to look at, these birds do not sound as beautiful as they give out a harsh shrill. Nevertheless, it is their beauty and their ability to stretch their tail in an ostentatious display that makes people turn around to have a better look at them.

Yet, another puja crossed by with much celebration in honour of the diety. It all happened like it always happens. The day starts with MAHALAYA at 4a.m. broadcast by All India Radio. And then people go about their daily chores. But then now, there are some extra shopping to be done. New sarees, new pieces of jewellery, sweets, perfumes, scented candles, incense sticks, presents for relatives, new pieces of crockery, and much more depending on the budget and family needs. Everyone is in a mood to celebrate knowing that the Goddess will return after ten days. So, everyone tries to make the maximum use of it. But, the actual hustle starts on the fifth day, called the PANCHAMI as per the Hindu calendar. The fully dressed and ornamented idol is brought to the pandal, unveiled so that people can have a look at her face and then the religious proceedings begin. People gather in thousands to see the goddess, to seek her blessings, and thank her for all the good things she has bestowed on each of us. Still there are some people who look upon this festival as sources of extra income. They come up with stalls around the tent and the children gather in flocks to watch games or buy toys or gorge in some street food delicacies. But, above all there is peace and hope in everyone's eyes that the Goddess will bestow everyone with something and take away the pain and miseries while going away. Four days pass with  puja, celebrations, and then the last day comes when the Goddess will be immersed and people with their heavy hearts will have to wait for the next year when the Goddess would again come with new hope. This festival brings hope as much as joy for all. From all over the world, tourists come in to watch this festival and write lengths about how this festival is celebrated. The festival is colorful, no doubt, like all but it still holds a special place in everyone's minds because of the various myths associated with it. Hope I live long enough to be able to watch the Puja next year. May the Goddess come each year to give us happiness and get us rid of the miseries and ill habits we all suffer from.

Defining life

HOW DO WE DEFINE LIFE?

Everyone loves to define life in his or her own unique way but none till date have been able to bring out with a complete definition of life. That is obvious of course, because no two experiences are the same. Everyone has had their own fair share of upbringing, their beliefs, values, and ultimately the society they have lived in. Still some people did try to generalize on the definition of life. I live my life in my own way but my neighbor does not. I do not blame him, after all he has his own theory and definition of life. I like to read, learn, write, and watch something new. It prevents life from being stagnant. Stagnancy is something, which I fear, not because that I am over-energetic but because it leads to dwelling of negative thoughts in the mind.
Today, I decided to surf the net for something new. I like to read, no doubt, anything and everything that can teach me something at the end of the lesson. I happened to stumble upon this article-- this article is kind of a raw draft. I bet this article was written by some amateur, just with the intention to write or inform or share, whatever it might have been. Below is an excerpt of what I read and agree with to some extent. Hope the readers of my blog will read and send in valuable feedback regarding the same.

The Meaning of Life

Some people say: "There is no meaning of life." Most say: "There is a meaning of life, but it can not easily be told what it is and everybody has to find it him/herself."
I say: "Bullshit! The meaning of life EXISTS, it CAN be easily found and it is THE SAME for everybody." So here is a short do and don't list on how to give your life sense and who to find it's meaning:
  • Enjoy the moment. One special second can give sense to a whole life.
  • Life is full of those seconds, you just have to open your eyes and see them when they come your way (and they DO come to everybody, believe me).
  • Know yourself, know your faults & love yourself the way you are.
  • Make faults to learn and never look back in anger. Sometimes a lot of shit has to happen, to let something good evolve.
  • Try to understand the way your enemies think, so you can turn them into friend or at least  to get to know why they act the way they do. (Which makes it easier cease hating them)
  • Find a channel to let all your anger and hate flow away.
  • Find love. There are many ways and many things to love.
  • Never supress love. You can love many people at the same time. It is a lie that true love means to love only one person. Nevertheless it is true that you can live together with only one partner. This is because we are made to live IN big groups, but to live AS pairs. So always remember: Making love is only ONE way of loving. And it is true what a wise man said: You can get hungry everywhere, but it's always the best to eat at home.
  • Do not have relationships with people you do not really love. How to know what real love is? Well, if this question is neccessary it definitely is not real love. Everybody knows what true love is, unfortunately most people listen more to their brains and to their naughty bits, then they do to their hearts.
  • Life is a game. So treat it as one.
  • In fact every single day, every hour, every minute second and splitsecond is a game all of itself. You always have to try to have good moments. A homeless can have a better life then a billionaire. Life is never about money, career, goals or something like that. All life is about is having a good time.
  • Understand that their is no duty. You do not have to do ANYTHING. Everything you do, you do, because you CHOOSE to do so. Of course there are REASONS to do or not to do something (law for example or survival), but his has no effect on the fact that you still CHOOSE to do it. It is very important for you to understand this.

To put it all in a nutshell, here is the meaning of life:

Find one moment (it ahs not neccessarily to be a long one)  which is so positiv that you know (KNOW, not BELIEVE or THINK, etc) that this single moment has made your life worth living.

P.S. Guess what the best thing is: When you spent such a moment, noone and nothing can take it away from you, NEVER. Because it happend and no matter what shit is going to happen, nothing can change this fact.

P.S.S. And of course you can have MORE THEN ONE of this moments. You just have to live them.

I liked the last line, the P.S.S. of course. Found it meaningful and simple to follow.
